Outer Island ( English for Outer Island ) is an island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands, surrounded by flooded reef rocks . In Orwell Bight , it is 500 m east of Berntsen Point off the east coast of Signy Island .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations mapped and named it in 1933. It is named for its geographical location beyond the entrance to Borge Bay .
