The Outer Reef Moraine ( English for exterior Moränenriff is) a reef off the north coast of South Georgia . In Possession Bay it ranges from the Alert Point to the Steep Point .
The name of the reef appears for the first time on a map of the British Admiralty from 1931. The background of the name has not survived.
