Ove Allansson
Ove Allansson (born June 13, 1932 in Lidköping , † January 9, 2016 in Gothenburg ) was a Swedish writer .
Life
Allansson grew up in Kvänum , municipality of Vara , and worked in the manufacturing industry, a research institute and on a research ship as a lathe operator and fitter and as a mechanic in the merchant fleet . His writing debut took place in 1963 with poems in the newspaper Sjömannen (German Der Seemann ) and with a novella in the newspaper Metallarbetaren (German Der Metallarbeiter) in the same year. He then worked for a number of other newspapers and magazines. He published about thirty books and worked on as many anthologies , most of which deal with seafaring life and travel. In 1967 his first novel Resan till Honduras (German trip to Honduras ) was published. In 1969 he became a full-time writer.
Allansson was one of the so-called working - class writers , distinguished himself through social engagement and was a storyteller with great imagination. In his many works he shed light on everyday life in Sweden. He mixed work, dreams, love, sadness and anger with the lust and joy of the present. His stories raised fundamental existential and political questions. In his endeavors to improve the working and living conditions of seafarers, he constantly focused in his works on the injustices on board, examined the class society and exposed power structures.
In 1984 Allansson moved to Gothenburg , where he lived with his wife Sonja Maria. He had two children and six grandchildren.
