Overthrow was a Canadian death and thrash metal band from Scarborough , formed in 1987 and disbanded in 1991.
history
The band was formed in January 1987 by bassist and vocalist Nick Sagias, drummer Wayne Powell and guitarists Derek Rockall and Ian Mumble. Together they developed the first pieces, which were released in April 1989 as Demo Bodily Domination . The demo was produced by Brian Taylor ( Sacrifice , Slaughter ). In November of the same year Derek Rockall left the band and was replaced by Ken Wakefield. In June 1990 the band recorded their debut album Within Suffering at Morrisound Studios under the direction of Tom Morris . Scott Burns ( Obituary , Death ) worked as a producer. A music video for the song Suppression was also released . In 1991 the band broke up again.

The band plays a mixture of classic Thrash and Death Metal, whereby the high aggressiveness and the high speed of the songs are characteristic.
