The Overton Peak is an approximately 550 m high mountain on the West Antarctic Rothschild Island . It rises at the southeast end of the Desko Mountains .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after Commander Robert H. Overton of the United States Coast Guard , senior officer on the USCGC Westwind during Operation Deep Freeze in 1971.
