Oxia ( Greek Οξεία ( f. Sg. )) Or Oxeia is an uninhabited Greek island in the Ionian Sea that belongs to the municipality of Ithaca .

The warships of the Holy League gathered in front of the island in October 1571 to defeat the Ottoman fleet in the sea battle of Lepanto on October 7, 1571 south of the island .

The island, on which there is the only building an abandoned lighthouse until it is sold, was bought in 2012 by an investment company from the emirate of Qatar , apparently for the ruling Al Thani family of Qatar.
