Päivi Hiltunen-Toivio

Päivi Hiltunen-Toivio is a Finnish diplomat .

Career

Hiltunen-Toivio has been working for the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1979. She was Deputy Secretary General of the Secretariat of the EU Presidency in the Finnish Embassies in Paris and Brussels and Special Advisor for EU Affairs in the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Commerce and between 2000 and 2004 she was Head of EU Enlargement in the European Union Department. From 2004 to 2008 she was Finnish Consul in Shanghai . In 2008 Hiltunen-Toivio became head of the General Affairs Department of the European Department of the Ministry and in 2010 Ambassador of Finland in Prague .

On August 15, 2014, Hiltunen-Toivio was appointed Finnish Ambassador to Indonesia by the President of Finland and, on January 13, 2015, was also appointed Ambassador to East Timor . In 2018 she was replaced by Jari Sinkari .
