Pål Anders Ullevålseter

Pål Anders Ullevålseter (born December 7, 1968 ) is a Norwegian enduro racer .

Motorsport career

He got into motocross sport in 1987 and took part in his first enduro in 1992. In 1998 and 2000 he was European Enduro Champion .

Ullevålseter contested his first marathon rally in 2000 with the UAE Desert Challenge and started in 2002 for the first time in the Dakar Rally . When he participated for the first time, he was ninth and was the best amateur in the field. This made him the first Norwegian enduro racer to fully complete the Dakar Rally. A year later he finished seventh. He also finished fifth in the Tunisia Rally and UAE Desert Challenge that same year . There he was able to achieve his first stage win. His most successful season was 2004 when he finished fifth in the Dakar Rally and won the Pharaohs Rally . So he became a marathon rally world champion .

The following year things went less well for Ullevålseter. He had a bad crash on the tenth stage of the 2005 Dakar Rally and had to give up the rally. He was injured for a long time by the fall and was only at the start of a rally ten months later.

In 2006 Ullevålseter again competed in many marathon rallies. He finished sixth in the Dakar Rally, second in the Pharaohs Rally and third in the Tunisia Rally. In the World Cup, he finished third at the end of the season. In 2007 he finished the Dakar Rally in fourth place, his best ever result in the rally. At the Central Europe Rally , the replacement event for the Dakar Rally, which had to be canceled in 2008 due to the threat of terrorism, he finished seventh. He finished sixth at the 2009 Dakar Rally . He finished his first participation in the Africa Eco Race in 2015 as a winner in the motorcycle classification. The Norwegian was also victorious in the eighth edition of the Africa Eco Race , which took place at the end of December 2015 / beginning of January 2016: He won the overall standings in the motorcycle class with a lead of more than six hours over Briton Andrew Newland and celebrated nine stage victories.

At the Africa Eco Race 2017, the Norwegian came second in the overall motorcycle ranking behind the South African Gev Sella .

Ullevålseter is known for his consistent driving style, which is why he manages to achieve top placings on a regular basis.

Personal

In May 2015 Ullevålseter and former kickboxing world champion Mette Solli announced their engagement. The couple have a daughter together. Ullevålseter also has a son from a previous relationship.

Ullevålseter has participated in the television programs "Isdans" (counterpart to " Dancing On Ice "), "Skal vi danse" (counterpart to " Let's Dance ") and "Farmen kjendis" broadcast by the Norwegian broadcaster TV 2 . At "Isdans" in May 2007, he and Anna Pouchkova were crowned winners. In 2018 Ullevålseter won the TV show “Farmen kjendis”.
