World Bandy Championship 1979
The 11th World Bandy Championship was held in Sweden from January 27 to February 4, 1979 . The Soviet Union managed to win the eleventh title in a row ahead of Sweden and Finland.
A round trip was played, so each team met twice and had to play a total of six games.

The World Cup games were played in Vänersborg , Trollhättan , Gothenburg , Kungälv , Köping , Uppsala , Katrineholm , Stockholm and Eskilstuna .
