The 18th Bandy World Cup was from 2. February bis 7. February 1993 in Norway Hamar discharged. Sweden defeated Russia, which succeeded the Soviet Union, 8-0 in the final. The host team Norway won a world championship medal with bronze for the first time since 1965 .
Game mode
The eight teams were classified according to their strength in an A and a B group. The first three of the A group automatically qualified for the semi-finals. The fourth in group A had to play a game against the first in group B, the winner of which would also qualify for the semi-finals.
The games in the group stage lasted 2 × 30 minutes while the placement games were played in the normal length 2 × 45 minutes.
venue
The venue was the newly opened Vikingskipet in Hamar , which was built for the 1994 Winter Olympics .
