1971 World Bandy Championship

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The seventh Bandy World Championship was the 3. March bis 14. March 1971 in Sweden held. The Soviet Union managed to win the World Cup for the seventh time in a row and was also unbeaten in 1971.

After Norway had boycotted the World Cup in 1969 because of the use of Soviet troops in the Prague Spring , it now participated in the World Cup again.

The mode remained the same as in the World Cup two years ago: a round trip was played, so each team met twice and had to play a total of six games.

Venues

The twelve games were played in twelve different locations. The venues were Skövde , Vänersborg , Lidköping , Gothenburg , Motala , Örebro , Eskilstuna , Uppsala , Katrineholm , Västerås , Oxelösund and Stockholm .
