The Pölzerhof is a listed municipal housing in the 10th Vienna district favorites .

description

The Pölzerhof is located on Dampfgasse 35–37 and between Neilreichgasse and Hasengasse . The Waldmüllerpark is just opposite . The community housing was built in 1926/27 according to plans by the architect Hugo Mayer . It was not named after the social democratic politician Johann Pölzer until after the Second World War .

The Pölzerhof, which comprises 103 apartments, is built around the edge of the courtyard around a rather small inner courtyard. It is structured with narrow oriels and the color scheme, which is repeated in the base zone and on the window frames. The high entrance area with a pointed gable roof in the Dampfgasse, above which there is a relief with the Viennese coat of arms, is emphasized. A memorial plaque with a portrait relief for Johann Pölzer was placed in the gate entrance. On the side facing Hasengasse, there is a low part of the building in the middle that originally housed a workers' library. Today there is a Waldmüllerzentrum event room here , where exhibitions and concerts (often with Viennese music) take place. A branch of the municipal libraries is located next to it. There is also a kindergarten in the facility.
