Příhrazské skály

Příhrazské skály (German Pschichraser Felsen ) are a rock town in the Bohemian Paradise in the Czech Republic .

The 519 hectare sandstone rock area is located northeast of the basalt mountain Mužský . It comprises 178 individual rocks that are separated by deep gorges . The height is 239-463 mn m . At the bottom of the gorges there is a specific, damp and cold microclimate; the temperature differences between sunlit areas and the shady canyons can be up to 20 ° C in summer.

The area has been under protection as a nature reserve since 1999 . It is mostly overgrown with pines, a small proportion of beeches and oaks. Species worthy of protection here are the lesser horseshoe bat and the magnificent thin fern . The remains of the medieval rock castles Drábské světničky , Klamorna, Staré hrady and Hynšta lie on the rocks .

The rock city is best accessed via the so-called Pschichras stairs from the parking lot in Příhrazy (Pschichras).
