Lists on the subject

The P-64 CZAK is a Polish self-loading pistol that is part of the equipment of the country's police and armed forces.

history

The development of the weapon began in the 1950s with the aim of replacing the Russian model Tokarew TT-33 , which had been in use until then, with a modern weapon from local production. The name of the weapon is made up of the surnames of the officers involved in the development:

  • Witold Czepukajtis
  • Romuald Zimny
  • Henryk and Mieczysław Adamczyk
  • Stanislaw Kaczmarski

The P-64 is a compact pistol with an unlocked mass lock and fixed barrel. It was introduced to the Polish Armed Forces in 1965 and proved to be safe and reliable. Soon, however, the magazine capacity was classified as too small; the double action trigger was also quite hard. Although realized as an independent construction, a relationship with the Walther PPK cannot be overlooked. The structure and dimensions are similar, a release lever and a charge indicator are also provided. When loaded, a protruding pin indicates that there is a cartridge in the store .

The pistol has already been taken out of service by the military, but can still be found in use by the Polish police.
