The Type 121N of the Polish manufacturer PESA is a three part, meterspuriger , consistently niederfluriger tram - railcar of Polish manufacturer PESA.
history
In 2005, the meter-gauge tram company from Elbląg ordered six copies of the 121N low-floor car from PESA. Unlike its relatives 120N and 122N, it is only made up of three parts (instead of five parts) due to the lower number of passengers during operation. The ordered cars were delivered between September and December 2006. So far there have not been any follow-up orders of this type, so that the six mentioned are the only representatives of this type for Elbląg.
technology
The 121N is a three-part articulated multiple unit with a low-floor portion of 100 percent. Only sections 1 and 3 have powered bogies . Section 2 is designed to be floating and is supported by the joints on the adjacent sections. Four outward swinging doors (one single door each in section 1 and 3, two double doors in section 2) guarantee a quick change of passengers.
Like most contemporary tram cars, the 121N received panorama windows with tinted panes. The design of the car front, designed as a crash absorption element , with its deep-drawn windshield and the “Evil Eye” headlights gives the 121N family an unusually sleek look for rail vehicles.
The passenger information system consists of interior loudspeakers with a recorder for the stop announcement, LED displays on the front and side of the car and in the video-monitored passenger compartment.
