The Philotax catalog is an electronic stamp catalog, it was registered as a trademark at the German patent office in 1998 by PhilAcron Verlag Hommer & Diebold.

history

From 2003 the Philotax GmbH was founded in Bischbrunn. Philotax initially issued electronic postage stamp catalogs on CD-ROM, mainly plate flaw catalogs for the Federal Republic and Berlin. From 1999, specialized country catalogs for philatelists were published on CD-ROM. From 2001 printed postage stamp catalogs and later also electronic catalogs for coin collectors were created. With PhiloStar a software for collectors was created in 2005. Philotax uses this database to create its own electronic stamp catalogs. An “online stamp catalog” with 700,000 images has been available for a fee since 2008.

PHILOTAX software catalogs contain the postage stamps , postal stationery, stamp booklets and other philatelic items for collectors issued by state postal administrations . The price quotations differ from other stamp catalogs.

In the special catalogs, PHILOTAX documents the differences in colors, perforations , watermarks , paper, type, edition and gumming that arise during production . There is also a special plus letter catalog for postal stationery collectors .
