The PNC Bank Arts Center is an amphitheater in Holmdel, New Jersey .
History and use
The open-air arena was built between 1964 and 1968 for around 6.75 million US dollars . The center was originally opened as the Garden State Arts Center on June 12, 1968. Initially, classical music performances were on the program as well as pop music. In 1996, PNC Bank acquired the right to determine the name of the building; in the same year the site was renovated and the number of seats increased by 2000. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority, or NJTA for short, owns the building, which is run by Live Nation Entertainment. Internationally known artists such as James Taylor (who gives a concert here every year), Glen Campbell , the Jonas Brothers , Sting , Trey Anastasio , Fall Out Boy and Kenny Chesney have performed here.
