The Hindu temple Pura Silayukti on a headland in the east of the city is one of the four oldest temples in all of Bali. In the 11th century the preacher Empu Kuturan is said to have lived here, who introduced the caste system to Bali. Not far from there is also the small Hindu temple Pura Payogan , which was built on a ledge above the sea. It is visited a lot by believers who offer fruits and flowers here. From here there is an impressive view of the cliffs in the east of Bali.

The city has four beaches:

  • Blue lagoon : especially popular with snorkelers and divers.

  • White Sand (Bias Tugal) : a former dream beach with a South Sea atmosphere . Today, a ruined building spoils the upper part of the mountain.
  • Black Sand : Spacious, lonely beach, stretches approx. 12 km to behind Kusamba. Sometimes dolphins can be seen.
