La Pagina da Surmeir is a weekly regional newspaper in the Romance idiom Surmiran . The first edition appeared on June 6, 1946. The newspaper has around 1,700 subscribers, about 60% of them from the Surmeir . The editorial office is in Savognin .
history
La Pagina da Surmeir was founded in 1946 by the "Uniun rumantscha da Surmeir" (URS), in opposition to the Grischun Central by Leza Uffer, which appeared between October 1946 and April 1948. The URS criticized the latter for its poor spelling and the lack of political and social commitment. The first issues appeared as a monthly supplement to the Gasetta Romontscha . From November 1949 it appeared once a month as an independent newspaper. From January 1978 it appeared twice a week, since July 1980 it appears once a week.
The editors were Duri Loza, Gion Duno Simeon (1950–1952), Alfred Scarpatetti (1952–1953), Gisep Willimann (1953–1955), Bonifazi Plaz (1955–1961), Albert Camen (1962–1968), Cyrill Brenn (1968 –1976), Franz Capeder (1976–1979) and Rina Steier (1980–1986). Peder Antona Baltermia has been editor-in-chief since 1987.
Current
La Pagina da Surmeir reports on the political and cultural events in the Albula valley and in Oberhalbstein . The official gazette for the municipalities of Central Grisons is enclosed with the newspaper . This makes it one of the few regional newspapers in Graubünden to publish official announcements in all three cantonal languages (German, Romansh and Italian). The editorial part is kept in the local Romance idiom Surmiran throughout.
