Paionaios
Paionaios ( ancient Greek Παιωναῖος ) is one of the Idaean dactyls in Greek mythology .
According to Pausanias , Rhea entrusts the newborn Zeus to the five dactyls from the Cretan Ida Mountains so that they can protect him from his father Kronos . He identified the dactyls with the curetes . In the Zeus sanctuary Olympia each of the Idean dactyls had its own altar.
