Mariana Pajón Londoño (born October 10, 1991 in Medellín ) is a Colombian cyclist who is active in BMX .

Athletic career

Mariana Pajón won her first cycling title at the age of five. In 2012 and 2016 she was Olympic champion in BMX. In 2012 she was also the flag bearer of the Colombian Olympic team. This makes her the most successful Latin American cyclist to date at the Olympic Games (as of 2016).

In September 2017, Pajón announced that it would also compete on the track in future . You are looking for a new challenge. At the Juegos Bolivarianos in the same year she won the team sprint with Martha Bayona . In 2019 she won gold in the BMX race at the Pan American Games .

Honors

After her Olympic victory in 2012, Mariana Pajón was awarded the Colombian Order de Boyacá .
