The People's Movement of Pakistan ( Urdu پاکستان عوامي تحريک, English Pakistan People's Movement ) is a political party in Pakistan . It was founded in 1989. The founding chairman of the movement is the Islamic preacher Muhammad Tahir al-Qadri .

The main goal of the popular movement is to promote a return to Islam worldwide and to form a unity among the Muslims of the world called the Ummah . The party therefore also has offices in numerous countries that are under the influence of Tahir-al-Qadri and its organization Minhaj ul-Quran .

The party also opposes “ Israeli aggression” and “global dominance of the USA ”. On the issue of the conflict with India, she advocates the reconquest and integration of all of Kashmir in Pakistan.

In the elections on October 20, 2002, al-Qadri was elected Member of Parliament for his constituency of Lahore . However, the Pakistani People's Movement boycotted the last parliamentary elections in 2008 .
