The Palais Apponyi is a palace in Vienna's 4th district of Wieden at Johann-Strauss-Gasse 7.

The facade of the Apponyi Palace

The small residential palace was built in 1880 by the architect Victor Rumpelmayer for the Hungarian magnate family Apponyi . It is the liaison house of the Vienna academic fraternity Albia .

description

The neo-renaissance style palace has a simple facade. The windows of the main floor are with triangular pediment of consoles decorated worn, the windows of the overlying floor while only just have window canopies. Inside, a wide staircase with a magnificent railing leads to the 1st floor. Wooden coffered ceilings have been preserved in the state rooms. The courtyard side is provided with a round core.
