Isbary Palace

The Palais Isbary located on the 4th Vienna district , Wieden , Schmöllerlgasse 5. (In the same block-Eugen-Strasse Prince is located on the parallel one Rothschild Palace .)

history

The late historical palace was designed by Karl Mayreder in 1901/02 and built by the construction company Johann Sturany . The client was the industrialist Rudolf von Isbary junior (1858–1932), son of the scarf manufacturer Rudolf Freiherr von Isbary (1827–1892).

description

A banded base storey with double windows with wrought-iron grilles connects to a smooth, sand-colored base zone with basement windows. The arched portal on the left side of the facade is provided with a coat of arms cartouche. About a simple cordon of five-axis central part of the rises Beletage with baroque- Fensterverdachungen decorated. The lateral axes are emphasized by giant Corinthian pilasters that extend over the second and third floors. Two arched double windows with curved window canopies and a curved stone balcony on consoles form lateral accents. The lintel reliefs show allegorical figures. The top floor has windows with sill cornices and parapet frame fields as well as double windows in the lateral axes. A mansard roof rises above the cornice .
