The Nug-Kleinautowerke Niebaum, van Horn & Co. - according to other sources Nug-Motorenwerke Niebaum, van Horn & Co. - were a German automobile manufacturer .

Company history

The company was founded in 1920 as an OHG . Heinrich Niebaum, Valentin van Horn and Paul Hamacher were shareholders. The seat was in Herford . Deviating from this, one source states that only the production facility was located in a gas generator factory in Herford, but the company was based in Hanover . The production of the automobiles ran from 1921 to 1925.

vehicles

The company manufactured small cars. An alternating four-cylinder engine provided the drive . The engine with 960 cm³ displacement and 18  HP (13 kW) power was mounted in the front of the vehicle and drove the rear axle via a three-speed gearbox. A differential was not used because of the narrow rear track . The vehicle was equipped with a stylish pointed radiator and offered space for two people. According to two sources, a limousine was also available. The maximum speed was given as 80 km / h.

A vehicle of this brand took part in the opening race at the Berlin AVUS in 1921 . At least one vehicle took part in the small car race at AVUS in 1923.

The automobile historian Erwin Tragatsch stated in the March issue of the classic car magazine Automobil- und Motorrad-Chronik , which he published in 1971 , that one of the manufacturer's vehicles still existed in Westphalia .
