Westfalia was a German motor vehicle brand.

Company history

Hermann Voltmann founded the company Erste Oeynhauser Krankenfahrzeugfabrik Hermann W. Voltmann in Bad Oeynhausen in 1871 to manufacture ambulances. Motorized vehicles followed in 1936. The brand name was Westfalia . On January 30, 1985 the company was deleted. Production ended in 1979.

Motor vehicles

Motorized vehicles for the physically handicapped were on offer. The M 50 model appeared in 1954 . A two-stroke engine from the ILO engine works with a displacement of 125 cm³ provided the drive. The M 150 from the same year was available both with the aforementioned Ilo engine and with a built-in engine from Fichtel & Sachs with either 175 cm³ or 200 cm³ displacement. The vehicle was a tricycle with the single wheel at the front. It was steered with a motorcycle handlebar. The vehicle had an open body with two doors, a fixed windshield and a convertible top. The curb weight was given as 320 kg.
