ADI-Fahrzeugbau , also known as Adi-Moped for short , was a German manufacturer of mopeds and three-wheeled trucks. The name of the company, which existed from 1948 to 1956, was derived from the first and last name of the founder Artur Diebler.

history

After the end of the Second World War , the Berlin-Neukölln- based company Fahrzeugbau Artur Diebler began manufacturing cargo tricycles of a simple design under the brand name ADI. The drive unit was located above the front single wheel, which was driven by a chain. The goods could be stored on a loading platform at the rear or in a box body behind the driver's open seat. In 1948 this ADI was offered by ILO with a 120 cm³ engine . In 1951 a thousand copies of these primitive city delivery vans were already running; The Berlin postal authorities also tried out the small motor tricycle. In 1950/51 ADI planned to bring a similarly designed, two-seater small car with a single-cylinder ILO two-stroke engine onto the market. The driver could operate the steering with a long lever; the rear wheels were braked with a foot brake. The mobile was intended as a disabled person's vehicle and reached a speed of almost 50 km / h. From 1954 ADI started manufacturing mopeds. At IFMA 1956 ADI showed a new, three-wheeled cargo moped; a year later production had to be stopped.
