Beteiligungs- undbesitzgesellschaft mbH , based in Edermünde in the Schwalm-Eder district in Hesse .
history
The sports car YES! (English for yes! ) arose from a diploma thesis by Herbert Funke and Philipp Will, who studied automotive engineering at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences . With the design student Oliver Schweizer, who designed the outer shape of the YES! designed, a marketable project emerged. In order to obtain the necessary financial resources, the developers approached forty companies in the automotive industry, a large number of which were ready to provide support.
At the 1999 International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main , the first prototype of the YES! , the Club Sport model . The vehicle concept was a puristic sports car, without a roof, doors and the usual comfort. Because of the low weight and comparatively high engine power achieved by these measures, it was also referred to in press reports as a motorcycle on four wheels. More than 30 vehicles were pre-ordered at the 1999 IAA.
After this fair, Funke & Will AG was founded in Großenhain in 2000. From 2001, in a restored 1930s - hangar at the airfield Großenhain models of YES! individually handcrafted and delivered for its owner. Part of this marketing concept was the possibility that customers could arrive directly by plane.
On February 4, 2009, Funke & Will AG filed for bankruptcy at the Dresden District Court. The entire YES! including the development documents, manufacturing equipment and parts still available to the newly founded Yes! Holding and holding company in Edermünde sold. It offers spare parts and customer service for vehicles that have already been sold and leads the production of the YES! 2 continued in small numbers. Since then the public prosecutor's office has been investigating the two original company founders for extensive subsidy fraud .
In 2010, the YES! Beteiligungs- undbesitzgesellschaft mbH, based in Edermünde in Hesse, created the brand. Since then, under the new management of the YES! Roadster 3.2 Turbo handcrafted.
