Company history
The insurance salesman Rudolf Thurner († 2008) founded the company in Bernbeuren . In 1968 he produced a prototype and presented it to NSU . NSU then gave him the clearance to name the car after his name and supplied him with complete floor assemblies. In 1969 he began producing automobiles in the buildings of an old spinning mill. The brand name was Thurner . In 1974 production ended because the oil crisis made production costs much more expensive and Thurner's chief financial officer was killed in a car accident. The company went bankrupt . A total of 121 vehicles were built.
vehicles
Only one model was on offer. The Thurner RS was an NSU-based sports car . Special features were the body made of GRP and the wing doors . The price was between DM 13,500 and DM 15,600.
