AC Automotive GmbH is a German manufacturer of automobiles . The company AC Cars by Gullwing GmbH is also mentioned occasionally . It is the successor company of AC Cars Limited from the island of Malta .

Company history

The company was founded in 2009 according to two sources. According to older extracts from the commercial register, Laurent Abert and Jürgen Mohr, who previously operated Mohr Automobile , signed a partnership agreement on March 17, 2011, had the company, which had share capital of 100,000 euros , registered on May 9, 2011 and initially ran it together .

Jürgen Mohr is currently the sole owner. The connection to Alan Lubinsky from Acedes Holding as the rights holder of the brand is unclear.

The company is based at Siemensstrasse 6 in Straubenhardt . The production of automobiles takes place in a plant in Heyda near Hirschstein in Saxony . The brand name is AC . However, the company is not allowed to use the model name Cobra .

Sales in Switzerland and Liechtenstein are carried out by 4 MP AG from Zug , in the rest of Europe by Formula Automobiles from Mommenheim in France and outside Europe by AC Automotive.

In March 2014, the French sales partner exhibited two AC vehicles at the Techno-Classica in Essen .

The AC Mk VI is on offer . The vehicle looks similar to the AC Cobra . This is a two-seater roadster . A special feature is an optional hard top with hinged doors . The body is made of aluminum . A V8 engine from General Motors is front mounted in the vehicle and drives the rear axle.

There are four different versions to choose from. The GT is the weakest motorized with 6200 cm³ displacement and 437 hp .

The GT Big Block is the only one with a larger engine with 7200 cc and 640 hp. These two versions have been in the range since 2013.

The GTS , which has been available since April 2014, has the smaller engine that develops 647 hp with the help of a compressor .

The GTSR has been announced for July 2015 . It is based on the GTS , has 780 hp and is lighter than the others.

The vehicles are 402 cm long, 183 cm wide and weigh between 995 kg and 1095 kg.
