Dugatto-Design was a German manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The Essen-based company began producing automobiles in 1978. The brand name was Dugatto . Production ended around 1995.

The company manufactured kit cars . These were replicas of historical models with bodies made of GRP . The replicas of Jaguar XK 120 and XK 140 were based on a universal box profile frame . Six and twelve-cylinder engines from Jaguar with an output of 162 to 295 hp provided the drive . The new price in model year 1985 was from 50,000 DM . There was also a replica of a Porsche 356 Speedster for around DM 30,000 , for which a hardtop was also available. The basis was the shortened chassis from the VW Beetle . The engines available produced between 50 and 100 hp. There were also replicas of AC Cobra , BMW 507 and Mercedes-Benz 300 SL
