Kurek was a German car brand. The manufacturer's location was in Puchheim .

history

The electronics specialist Heinz Kurek (born 1938) had already manufactured a sports car for his own use in 1970 . In 1998 he produced the next model with the help of his son Rainer and Franz Eichinger. It was presented under the Kurek brand as the GT 6 . The GT 7 followed in 2004 . At least a GT 8 was planned. Rainer Kurek heads the automotive management consulting firm . Production ended in 2005.

The basis of the vehicle was a self-constructed box frame. or ladder frame. A body made of GRP was mounted on top. It was similar to the Porsche 904 , with borrowings from the Ferrari Dino and Lola T70 . The coupé offered space for two people.

A six - cylinder boxer engine from Porsche was mounted in a mid-engine design behind the seats and drove the rear wheels. The first vehicle had an air-cooled engine with a displacement of 3200 cm³ and the second vehicle had a water-cooled engine with a displacement of 3400 cm³. The maximum speed was given as 280 km / h. The curb weight was about 750 kg, 780 kg, about 800 kg or 830 kg.

A price of 130,000 euros or around 250,000 euros was named for the vehicle . Several sources state that two vehicles were made. Images show yellow vehicles with the German license plates FFB-RK 111 and FFB-RK 107 .

GT 7

A further development of the GT 6 was the GT 7 , which, like its predecessor, was based on the Porsche 904. The vehicle was about 100 cm high. For this model, too, an unladen weight of 790 kg and a top speed of 280 km / h were specified. A six-cylinder engine from Porsche with a displacement of 2700 cm³ and 220 hp propelled the vehicle. The vehicle used less than seven liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. A vehicle in blue with the license plate FFB-HK 107 has been handed down.
