Eberhard Kittler

Eberhard Kittler (* 1955 in Görlitz ) is a German motor journalist and automobile historian.

Life

Kittler put in 1977 at the University of Transport in Dresden from his state examination as a graduate engineer. In 1984/1985 he completed an additional course in publishing at the University of Leipzig .

From 1977 to 1981 he worked as a civil engineer for traffic construction. In 1982 he switched to the transport / transport history / automobile history specialist at transpress Verlag für Verkehrwesen Berlin . In addition, he published articles on traffic history in daily and weekly newspapers.

In 1988 Eberhard Kittler went to Frankfurt / Main, where he worked in the local editorial department of the evening post / night edition until the summer of that year. His other professional positions from August 1988 included activities at the magazines Oldtimer-Markt (assistant to the editor-in-chief, editor, deputy editor-in-chief) as well as convertible and sport coupé (editor-in-chief) in Mainz.

From January 1996 Kittler was part of the Motor Presse Stuttgart team . Initially for mot - Die Autozeitschrift (department head technology, deputy editor-in-chief) as well as Motor Klassik and Youngtimer , from 2006 for auto, motor und sport (author).

From the beginning of 2009 to the end of 2012, Kittler was in charge of the Volkswagen Classic division at Volkswagen Group Communications in Wolfsburg. He was then appointed Group Officer Volkswagen Classic. He held this position until the end of 2017. Eberhard Kittler has headed the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation since the beginning of 2014 .

Kittler is married and has two grown children. He emerged with numerous publications and made a name for himself with a number of automobile books. He continued the series of German cars founded by Werner Oswald .
