Lotec Sirius

Lotec is a German car brand with headquarters in Kolbermoor . It was founded in 1962 by Kurt Lotterschmid . Since its inception dealt Lotec with the development , optimization and modification of automobiles .

history

The company was founded in 1962 after Kurt Lotterschmid's master craftsman examination. In 1965 Lotec employed three people. Racing car construction started in 1969 and the vehicles achieved six victories in Formula Vee . In 1971 the construction of a two-seater racing car began and in 1975 bodywork conversions for Porsche vehicles ( GRP model and mold construction). The number of employees grew to eight.

In 1979 and 1980 Lotec was the overall winner of the Interseries with its own design. 1983 won the German racing championship C2 with an in-house design. In the same year LOTEC GmbH was founded, and body conversions for Mercedes-Benz vehicles (GRP model and mold construction, GRP custom-made products) began.

In 1984 the company developed a patented manufacturing process for Mercedes SEC engine hoods and produced complete LOTEC racing vehicles to order. A LOTEC Group C sports car wins the Japanese sports car championship. The number of employees rose to 12. 1985 the development of turbo engines for Mercedes vehicles with TÜV followed.

In 1988 the LOTEC group began to be divided into two independent companies with 16 employees. 1990 saw the development of the C1000 sports car and turbo engines for Ferrari vehicles. In 1991 the development and production of the Ambassadeur luxury limousine as well as an own vehicle based on Ferrari was added in collaboration with the designer Luigi Colani Testa D'Oro. This set a world record for KAT vehicles on the salt lake in Utah (USA) with 342 km / h. In 1992 planning and first drafts of the prototype Sirius began , which went into production in 1999. In 2000 the LOTEC Sirius was completed.
