The turbo engine exhaust GmbH (turbo engine exhaust GmbH according to another source) was a German manufacturer of automobiles . The original spelling was TURBOMOTORS Abgastechnik GmbH .

Company history

Horst Frischkorn founded Turbomotors Abgastechnik GmbH on December 5, 1991 . The company's headquarters were at Puderbacher Strasse 8 in Urbach . The company emerged from Turbo-motors, Gesellschaft für Turbo-Fahrzeugantriebe mbH . The oldest visible entry in the commercial register dates from July 12, 1986. This company was dissolved on December 3, 1991.

In the 1990s, the production of automobiles began. The brand name was either Sebring or Sebring-Spyder . Various magazines reported in 1995 on the vehicles that were produced and some of them were registered. So is z. B. in the October 1995 issue of the magazine Gute Fahrt a vehicle with registration in the Ludwigsburg district is shown. The vehicles were offered from October 1995 at the latest up to model year 2006. On July 28, 2007 the company was dissolved.

Other companies

Between January 20, 2000 and September 7, 2005 there was also Turbo-Motors Urbach GmbH . Turbo Motors AN GmbH existed between September 23, 2004 and May 19, 2011 . The connections to Turbomotors Abgastechnik GmbH are not known.

vehicles

The company made replicas of the 1957 Porsche RSK Spyder . The body type was that of an open two-seater. The body was made of plastic . The vehicle height was only 81 cm. One source cites a new price of DM 30,000 , but does not state for which model and in which year this price was valid.

Base VW

A shortened chassis from the VW Beetle was used for the weaker motorized versions . A four - cylinder boxer engine from VW provided the drive. The performance data ranged from 34 to 60 hp .

RS model

In 1997 the more powerfully motorized RS model added to the range. This model had a tubular frame and a mid-engine . For driving a boxer engine from VW made with 2000 cc engine capacity , by two IHI - turbo charged 150 hp made. The new price in the model years 1996 and 1998 to 2000 was from 55,000 DM .

Facelift

For the model years from 2003 onwards, it is stated that the chassis of the VW Beetle was provided with an additional tubular space frame. The engine was initially still in the center of the vehicle, but from model year 2005 it was mounted in the rear. In the 2005 model year, the maximum engine output was 200 hp.
