The Achim Gorgus dealership , previously Prestige Cars and Gorgus Engineering , was a German manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Achim Gorgus founded the Prestige Cars company in Karlsbad - Ittersbach in 1990 and began producing automobiles in 1991. The brand name was Gorgus . The company's name was later changed to Gorgus Engineering . From model year 1997 the company was called Autohaus Achim Gorgus and was located at Siemensstrasse 6 in Straubenhardt . Mohr Automobile previously worked there. Production ended in 2000. The Jörg Glauner car dealership became his successor and was registered at the same address for a long time.

The first model was a replica of the Ford GT 40 under license from GTD . A V8 engine from Ford had 5000 cc engine capacity . An engine with a displacement of 7100 cm³ was also available at an additional cost. The new price was 31,300 DM for a kit and 153,900 DM as a complete vehicle.

In 1996 the Rush model added to the range. This model was previously made by Mohr and was a replica of the Lotus Seven .

In 1998 the Dakota F 1 model was added. This was an open two-seater in the style of the Lotus Seven, but not a replica. An aluminum body was mounted over a tubular space frame . For driving a saw four-cylinder engine of Cosworth with two overhead camshafts , 16 valves and turbochargers , 350 of 2000 cc displacement PS gave performance.
