Rush (sports car)

The Rush is a sports car from various German automobile manufacturers. It is a replica of the Lotus Seven . The vehicle is available as a kit , as a rolling chassis and as a finished vehicle.

Manufacturer

Mohr Automobile manufactured the model from 1985 to 1996 and marketed it under the Mohr brand and the model name Rush . The design came from Dax . In 1996 the Achim Gorgus dealership took over production. Now the brand was Gorgus , while the model name remained unchanged. In 2000 the car dealership Jörg Glauner took over production. Since then the brand name has been Rush . By the beginning of the 1997 model year , almost 500 copies are said to have been sold.

A tubular steel lattice frame serves as the chassis , which is available in two different lengths. An aluminum body is mounted on top. There is a choice between a rigid axle and an independent suspension . Built-in motors from Ford , Honda , Opel , Rover and the Suzuki Hayabusa are available for the drive . These are four- , six- and eight-cylinder engines .

Prices

The prices are very dependent on the scope of the kit and the engine. In 1991 a rolling chassis cost from DM 12,244.74 and a complete vehicle with an engine from the Ford Sierra with 2000 cm³ displacement and 104 hp from DM 49,590. For the Rush Cosworth with 280 hp, prices in the same year were DM 17,961.84 for the rolling chassis and DM 85,500 for a complete vehicle. In the 2009 model year, a kit cost from 12,500 euros and a complete vehicle from 26,100 euros.
