The Palais Landau is a city ​​palace in Vienna's 4th district of Wieden , Prinz-Eugen-Straße 60.

history

The Palais Landau was built in the years 1899–1901 by the architect Karl König for Max Landau in the style of the Viennese neo-Renaissance . Karl König was a student of Heinrich Ferstel . The master builder was Oskar Laske . The palace was damaged in the war and rebuilt in 1950. Today the Palais Landau is the seat of the Romanian Embassy in Vienna.

A uniform ashlar on the facade does not allow the base zone, separated by a cordon cornice, to stand out. A round arch portal is located on the flat risalit on the left. A flat base cornice runs over the basement windows, over which there are windows with segmented gable roofing . The bel étage has high French windows with stone parapets and triangular gable roofing. The windows on the top floor and the roof extension that was subsequently added above the cornice are kept simple.
