The palace of Sardar was the residence of the Yerevan Khanate . Today the winery of the Yerevan brandy, wine and liquor factory Ararat stands on the grounds of the palace.

The palace was completed in 1819 . Many inscriptions are from the previous century and consist of quotations from Persian poems or poems of praise to Feth-Ali-Shah and the last Sardar, Hussein-Kuli-Chan. The palace mosque is decorated with a long inscription in which Muchtashem's elegy on the murders in Karbala is reproduced.

In the 1850s , four large (1 x 2 m) oil portraits by the Azerbaijani artist Mirza Kadim Erivani were added to the restored palace .
