The Yerevan brandy, wine and liquor factory Ararat ( Armenian Երևանի Արարատ կոնյակի-գինու-ողու կոմբինատ) is a beverage manufacturer in Yerevan .
Company history
The Yerevan brandy, wine and liquor factory Ararat was founded in 2002, but sees itself in the tradition of the "Yerevan wine and liquor factory", which the Armenian merchant Nerses Tairjanz founded in 1877 and sold in 1899 to the Russian merchant dynasty Shustov. The company was nationalized (nationalized) shortly after the establishment of the Armenian SSR in 1920 . The Yerevan Brandy Company emerged from it and sees itself as the heir to the Tairjanz factory.
In 2002 Gagik Zarukjan re-established the factory, adding “ Ararat ” to the old name . This is a popular name for companies of all kinds in Armenia and the name of a well-known variety from the product range of the Yerevan Brandy Company. Zarukjan had the old business building of the Schustow family restored and a company museum set up there. In 2005 the company produced one million liters of “Noah” brandy.
Formally, the Yerevan brandy, wine and liquor factory Ararat is an open joint stock company.
