Palazzetto Pisani is a palace in Venice in the Veneto region of Italy . It is located in the Sestiere of San Marco , overlooking the Grand Canal between the Palazzo Benzon Foscolo and the Ca 'Succi . It is found near the Ponte dell'Accademia , where the Rio del Santissimo flows into the Grand Canal.

history

Andrea Pisani ("de jure" Almorò 1 ° Alvise Andrea ) bought the palace in 1751 from Marchese Giovanni Poleni , physicist, mathematician and astronomer at the University of Padua , ultimately to the Pisani family - also owners of the magnificent Palazzo Pisani a Santo Stefano , who was built around 1615 - to make it possible to settle on the Grand Canal. On that occasion the wall that separated the two properties was torn down and the two palaces were united, but this constellation only lasted a few years. The Prince of Genoa bought the house as early as 1816 and in 1945 it fell to Count Leonardo de Lazara , who took care of its restoration.

description

It is a palace of traditional shape and outstanding elegance, an outpost of the imposing Palazzo Pisani a San Stefano, with which it is connected. Its facade indicates a construction period at the end of the 16th or beginning of the 17th century. The facade, which extends over four floors - ground floor and main floor between two mezzanine floors - is characterized by pairs of double windows, a scheme that can also be found on Ca 'Bernardo . Characteristic elements are also a coat of arms, floor separations in Istrian limestone and a stone portal, which is only used for decoration. The entrance to the palace is not on the city's main waterway, but rather on Calle del Portico Pisani .
