Palazzo Bembo is a palace in Venice in the Veneto region of Italy . It is located in the Sestiere of San Marco , overlooking the Grand Canal, near the Rialto Bridge and next to Palazzo Dolfin Manin .

history

The palace was built in the 15th century by order of the Bembo family and has been redesigned several times over the centuries, especially inside, but outside, with the exception of the attic, it still retains its original appearance.

Today the Palazzo Bembo is the seat of a hotel group and an exhibition space for contemporary art.

description

The facade of Palazzo Bembo, which is an excellent example of the union of several architectural styles through the use of different elements, such as a continuous balcony, shows with its three levels of arched windows a clear orientation towards the Venetian Gothic : This means that the pairs of five-ply windows in the the first main floor and the floor above it is of particular importance for the simple sight. The individual floors are separated by stone cornices decorated with half-reliefs.

Inside, a large 17th century staircase has been preserved in the entrance hall, which leads to the first main floor. There you can find baroque decorations from the same period. The entrance hall, also the reception hall, is behind the right multiple window.
