history

The original year of construction is unknown, but the palace was partially rebuilt in the 16th century.

description

The two facades from different times are characteristic of the Palazzo Corner Gheltof. The rear, which overlooks a large courtyard, also shows Byzantine elements, including a puteal dating from the 10th or 11th century, parapets on pointed balconies, and a simple staircase. The front facade, however, dates from the end of the 16th century and is grouped around a central axis, which consists of the portal to the water, Venetian windows and quadruple windows and is surrounded by numerous single windows. Two coats of arms can be seen at the level of the second main floor . It is not possible to say with certainty whether these are originals or copies from the 19th century. The front facade culminates in an attic .
