Palazzo Donà Balbi is a palace in Venice in the Veneto region of Italy . It is located in the Santa Croce sestiere on the right side of the Grand Canal on the foundation of the Riva di Basio in front of the Palazzo Flangini and the Church of San Geremia .

history

The current building was built in the 17th century, probably as a combination of three older buildings. It belongs to the province of Veneto and is the seat of the regional school board. The palace is currently one of the city's properties that the authorities have put up for sale.

description

The sober, plastered facade is divided into three parts, the peculiarity being that the right part is the main part. There is the only entrance door and four -part window with balustrades on the two parade floors, each flanked by a one-part window on the left. The other two parts are instead characterized by three adjacent individual windows, with the left-hand windows in the left-hand part being at a greater distance from the side windows. All openings are crowned by round arches over the frame.

The ground floor is made of bare stone and contains two side entrance doors to the palace that have been bricked up over time.
