Palazzo Donà a San Polo , also Palazzo Donà Brusa , is a palace in Venice in the Italian region of Veneto . It is located in the San Polo sestiere on Campo San Polo with a view of the Rio de la Madoneta next to the Palazzo Balbi .

history

The palace was built at the beginning of the 14th century for the old aristocratic Donà family , who originally came from Aquileia . Three members of this family, Francesco , Leonardo and Nicolò , became doges .

The composer Giovanni Francesco Brusa , who worked with Carlo Goldoni , later lived in this palace.

Today the building belongs to the Signum Foundation , which subsidizes the exhibitions of Polish and foreign artists.
