Palm Castle

The Palm'sche Schloss is located at Mönchfeldstrasse 35 in the Mühlhausen district of the state capital Stuttgart in Baden-Württemberg .

In 1711, the brothers Johann David (1657–1721), Jonathan (1671–1740) and Franz (1676–1742) Palm , who came from Esslingen am Neckar and worked as bankers in Vienna, were raised to the hereditary imperial knighthood, and acquired the Mühlhausen manor enrolled in the Swabian Imperial Knighthood . They were the progenitors of the Palm family .

The present castle was built in 1813 for Jonathan Freiherrn von Palm in the classicism style on the foundations of the old castle that had been demolished. Over the course of time, the castle was rebuilt several times, added extensions around 1895 and has been a listed building since 1971 .

In 1933 the city of Stuttgart acquired the castle, which today serves as the district town hall of the Mühlhausen district.

The following components of Palm'schen Schloss are kept in the Stuttgart City Lapidarium : two lion sculptures, two coat of arms stones, a gate in the park wall and two iron gate wings.
