Gert Kollmer-von Oheimb-Loup

Gert Kollmer-von Oheimb-Loup (born November 20, 1949 in Eßlingen am Neckar ) is a German economic and social historian.

Life

Gert Kollmer-von Oheimb-Loup graduated from high school in Esslingen am Neckar in 1969 and studied economics and history at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen from 1969 to 1975 . From 1975 to 1978 he worked as a research assistant at the chair for economic and social history with Karl Erich Born and as a research assistant at the Mainz Academy of Sciences and Literature. In 1978 he did his doctorate under Karl Erich Born on the subject: “The Swabian Imperial Knighthood between the Peace of Westphalia and the Main Reich Deputation. Investigation of the economic and social situation of the imperial knighthood in the knight cantons Neckar-Black Forest and Kocher. "

From 1978 to 1980 he was a state archives trainee for the state of Baden-Württemberg . In 1980 Kollmer-von Oheimb-Loup was appointed founding director of the Baden-Württemberg Economic Archives, which he headed until 2015. In 1984 he became a lecturer in economic and social history at the University of Hohenheim . In 1991 he was appointed honorary professor for economic and social history. In 1994 Kollmer-von Oheimb-Loup completed his habilitation with Harald Winkel at the University of Hohenheim and received the Venia Legendi for economic and social history .

Since 1994 he has been teaching economic and social history at the University of Hohenheim . He has been a full member of the Commission for Historical Regional Studies in Baden-Württemberg since 1994, a board member since 2006 and a member of the executive board and secretary since 2011. His main research interests are the economic and social history of the modern era, corporate and industrial history of the 19th and 20th centuries, and the economic and social history of southwest Germany from the 18th to the 20th century. He is a co-founder and co-editor of the series Contributions to Southwest German Economic and Social History and the Stuttgart Studies on Regional and Economic History.
