Palm Dog Award

The Palm Dog Award is an award for dogs that have acted in films, be they real dogs or from cartoons. With him the best film dog is awarded annually at the international film festival in Cannes . Its name is phonetically reminiscent of the Palme d'or, also awarded there .

The award was launched in 2001 by Toby Rose. Probably the best-known award winner so far is the Jack Russell Terrier Uggie . In 2016, the English bulldog Nellie was posthumously awarded the Palm Dog Award for her performance in Jim Jarmusch's film Paterson . The last winner so far is Brandy in the 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood .
