Distribution and origin
Phelsuma dubia is the most common type of Phelsumen. It occurs in Madagascar , the Comoros Islands , Zanzibar , Tanzania and Kenya .
habitat
Palm day geckos live in humid regions near the sea, mainly on palm trees. Every now and then one meets them at the houses of the inhabitants.
Way of life
This species eats insects such as flies and small crickets. Nectar and honey are also occasionally part of their diet. The males of Phelsuma dubia can be very aggressive towards each other and will not tolerate any other male in their territory. The females also often quarrel. Phelsuma dubia is most active in the late morning and afternoon. Males form a territory that they share with several females.
Keeping in the terrarium
The palm day gecko is not kept in the terrarium very often. It is very robust and easy to hold and is also extremely well suited for beginners. With good care, it shines in full color.
