Pamela Faber Benítez

Pamela Faber Benítez (* 1950 , USA ) is an American-Spanish linguist and translation scholar .

Life

From 1967 to 1971 Faber Benítez studied at the University of North Carolina in Chapell Hill , USA , from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. Between 1973 and 1978 she completed further studies in English language and literature in Granada , Spain . In 1980 she went to Paris to the Sorbonne ( Paris IV ), where she completed a postgraduate degree in linguistics in 1982. She then returned to teaching at the University of Granada , where she received her PhD in English Language and Literature in 1986. Since 2001 she has been a full professor in the Department of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Granada.

Research priorities

Faber Benítez has made a name for herself primarily through her contribution to the functional-lexematic model in the field of lexicography and the concept of frame-based terminology she developed .
